Our experienced team of bathroom fitters

Our specialist bathroom fitters are based across East Yorkshire, allowing The Bathroom Sanctuary to design and install bathrooms throughout the county and Lincolnshire. So, if you live near the coast or Beverley, our fitters are happy to install your luxury bathroom further afield than Cottingham, where our showroom is based.

During the bathroom design process,  one of our lead installers will visit your home at a time and date that’s convenient for you and conduct a detailed site survey. They will recheck all the measurements and carefully
evaluate the proposed new layout to ensure your design is possible.

After the lead installer has approved the checks, we will provide an installation quote covering all aspects of the bathroom fitting work.

Preparation ahead of fitting your new bathroom

From listening to customer requests and evaluating layout requirements, we pass the designs and information over to the fitting team to start the renovation and installation process. Sometimes our fitters uncover complex issues during the preparation stage that need addressing before going ahead.

For example, while removing the previous bath in this bathroom, our fitters found that it had been ‘jammed’ into place between a wall and the ceiling wedge meaning it was not reinforced and could have caused
serious issues.

stage 1

How your new bathroom can look during the first part of the fitting process

After removing the suite and furniture from your old bathroom, the fitting process can start, and this is where it gets exciting. Our bathroom fitting team will take your design and start putting your bathroom together before your eyes.

In this bathroom, timber structures were created to support a new basin and tap area, with pipes routed accordingly, and more timber is used to fix a recessed, illuminated bathroom cabinet, which otherwise could not have been utilised because of the ceiling wedge discovered earlier during the installation.

On an opposite wall, more timber structures are put in place to support the frame of a wall-mounted toilet. The space next to this creates space for the shower valve and a shower niche for storage. The ceiling has also been taken down, ready for new spotlights to be wired, with the ceiling then being reboarded, skimmed, and painted.

Stage 2

How your new bathroom can look during the second part of the fitting process

Once the initial timber frames have been laid out and the previous ceiling and floor fittings have been removed, our fitters can then start including boards to the walls and tiling specific areas, gradually turning the shell into your new bathroom.

For our example bathroom, the walls were boarded up and ready for tanking the wet areas along with tiling. The ceiling was ready to be boarded up for skimming, followed by painting, and the floor was lifted up, ready for tanking the wet areas and reboarding, ready for tiling. After these tasks, the fixtures and fittings were gradually installed, and the
customer’s dream bathroom was near completion.

Stage 3

How your finished bathroom can look after fitting is complete

Then the big reveal! After carefully removing the existing bathroom and fitting your chosen elements, your new luxury bathroom will be ready for your lead bathroom fitter to show you around. Your lead fitter will make sure you can easily use all your new fixtures and fittings, check that everything is working correctly, and sign off the work.

And don’t worry about any mess left over once the work is finished. Our experienced bathroom fitters will organise skips to dispose of all the waste, allowing you to enjoy the sanctuary of your new bathroom.

In our example bathroom, the result was a beautiful, luxury space, with a large, open shower area the customer had always wished for but never thought possible due to the limited space in their earlier bathroom.

Thoughts from the customer

"A great team of trusted and friendly tradesmen who work very well together."

“Our bathroom is a small space, and those with little imagination would do very little with it, other than replacing like for like. The design we went with meant changing everything around, meaning a lot of work
involved. The tradesmen and in particular Andy the joiner, appreciate the value and quality of the products and as such takes time and effort to give you the high end finish it deserves. He certainly did that with ours. A great team of trusted and friendly tradesmen who work very well together. A great experience from start to finish. Thank you all involved.”
